Baltic Property Trust Optima S.A, SICAR
has acquired the 15 storey 9800 sq.m. office property VERTAS, which
is a significant part of the Vilniaus Vartai development. This
business center is outstanding both in terms of quality and
location, and serves as the main domicile for international tenants
such as Citco, Cisco Systems, Eli Lilly, Nycomed, SAP and several
government institutions, including the Ministry of Finance.
"Vilniaus vartai" is the first
commercial and living luxury district in the Baltics and was
officially opened on the 26th of October 2007. It embraces 37
luxurious boutiques, 3 restaurants, a lounge bar and the globally
famous "Pacha" night club. "Vilniaus vartai" has been established
with the vision of attracting fashion, style, modern art and
quality leisure opportunities to Vilnius.
The Grand Opening ceremony of
"Vilniaus vartai" was the largest private gathering that Vilnius
has seen so far and it has been unofficially declared as the
celebration of the decade. More than 1000 guests were invited
including the Prime Minister of Lithuania, other government
representatives, personalities from spheres of culture, art and
fashion locally and from abroad.
The first part of the Grand Opening was offered as a present to
the whole city of Vilnius. Approximately 50.000 people were
watching the unique light performance created by Gert Hof, the
worldwide famous German light artist. The show was featured by
music created especially for this event by the most famous
contemporary Lithuanian composer - Linas Rimša. The composition was
performed by the National Symphonic Orchestra.
